About Sigma Theta Tau

Sigma Theta Tau International was founded by 6 nurses in 1922 at what is now Indiana University School of Nursing. The Greek words chosen as the name of the organization, Storgé, Tharsos and Timé, stand for “Love”, “Courage” and “Honor”. Since that humble beginning, the organization has grown to an international organization devoted to the scholarship of nursing.

The College of Nursing at UCF is home to the Theta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
