PROFILE
College of Nursing Assistant Professor Diane Andrews has more than 30 years of nursing experience.Her expertise covers a range of areas associated with workforce issues, especially as it relates to nursing recruitment, retention and the nursing shortage. She is the track coordinator for the Nursing Leadership and Management master's program at UCF, and her current area of research focuses on work force development and leadership and management issues.
She has a doctorate in public affairs from UCF and is a registered nurse with a master's degree in nursing service administration and a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Dr. Andrews has studied nurse satisfaction and the role that structure and stressors associated with a nurse's job plays in retention. She has published in the Journal of Professional Nursing and the Journal of Nursing Management. Dr. Andrews is also a reviewer for the International Journal of Public Policy, Internal Journal of Nursing Studies and Journal of Nursing Management.
She continues to serve her community as president of the Florida Medical Association Alliance and as a member of the Community Advisory Board for the Orlando Science Center. Download full CV.

-Environmental and worker analysis to gauge the impact and outcomes associated with employment within health care settings, particularly in light of current workforce projections.
-Special interest in the physical and psychological stressors associated with work in a health care environment and the coping response of individuals to those stressors.
-Health services research including the dissemination and implementation of nursing research.-Health systems and policy research.
