Application Requirements

RN-to-BSN and AS-to-BSN Program

Minimum application requirements*

  • Acceptance to UCF (Applicants who are not already enrolled at UCF must be accepted to the university by the nursing program deadline—refer to UCF’s undergraduate catalog for requirements). Click to apply to UCF.

  • Graduate of an accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program.

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (or be NCLEX-RN eligible) by the program application deadline.

  • Progress toward the UCF general education requirements, an AA degree from a Florida community or state college, or eligible for the Statewide Articulated AS-BSN program.

  • Minimum overall undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale (as determined by UCF).

  • Completion of nursing prerequisites with a grade of “C” (2.0) or better in each course. If substituting a different physical or life science course in place of chemistry, an APG petition form must be submitted and approved PRIOR to submission of an application to the College of Nursing. Please see a College of Nursing advisor if you have questions about this process.

* Meeting the minimum criteria for the RN-to-BSN, AS-to-BSN or RN-to-MSN program does not guarantee admission to these increasingly competitive programs.
