Message from the Dean
On behalf of our faculty and staff, welcome to the UCF College of Nursing.
Whether you are beginning your nursing career or making advancements into research, education or leadership, our college has a variety of accredited, high quality online and traditional classroom learning options to suit your needs.
UCF has always stood for opportunity – for our students and for me personally. In the more than two decades I have been at the UCF College of Nursing, first as a faculty member and now as Dean, it has never been a more exciting time to be here.
- To meet growing student and national demand, the college has continued to expand its programs with additional online options and new areas of study including a Nursing and Healthcare Simulation graduate certificate and MSN.
- Research and innovation continue to evolve as our faculty and students address the challenging health care needs of our nation and beyond. Our researchers are actively involved in simulation, new technology and collaborating across disciplines to create new knowledge to improve patient care.
- Our nationally renowned faculty includes six endowed chairs, 13 fellows of national organizations, two certified health care simulation educators and two advanced health care simulation educators – two of only 18 in the U.S. Our faculty continues to grow with a host of new thought leaders recently joining our college.
Since 1979, the college has educated nurses and offered academic excellence in its programs. Today, UCF is ranked among the best in the nation for online nursing programs, online graduate programs for veterans, RN to BSN campus programs and is a best value. Furthermore, as one of the largest universities in the nation with more than 64,000 students, UCF uses the power of scale and the pursuit of excellence to make a better future for our students and society.
Our graduates are highly sought after by employers, and routinely exceed state and national averages on the RN license exam (NCLEX-RN) and nurse practitioner exams.
If you are interested in becoming a Knight nurse or extending your journey here, I hope you choose UCF for your nursing education. I look forward to the opportunity to personally welcome you soon.
